Frankenstein is one of the few classic monster movies that I did not see on a Saturday afternoon on a UHF channel. No, this film was played in prime time. It was a special movie-of-the-week. A re-showing of a classic film on “regular” TV. It was a big deal. I sat with my mother, my brother, a few aunts and uncles and my grandparents [...]

In the previous review on issue #1 I wrote about how I didn’t really enjoy how Stein was approaching the character of Man-Thing – I said the humor just a bit off and just the characterization of Man-Thing was … interesting, but not to my liking. I did however note that I expressed a hope that it could get better and head in a different direction. That has in fact happened. But it is finally done and Nexus of All Realities has a brand new, fancy-dancy website. It’s pretty simple, pretty [...]
Does it say something about me that this image has stuck with me for forty years? As a kid I had this issue, and this panel in particular I thought was one of the coolest things I had ever seen. There is an evil villain with no face, another villain with rotating saw blades on his wrists and a huge monster emerging form the woods. [...]
Comics are a business. Amid the artwork and the writing, the beloved characters and detailed worlds and universes it is easy to forget that these guys* also want to make money. And in doing so certain ideas and concepts get … let’s say borrowed … from time to time. But every once in a while something happens, something strange and coincidental. Two characters get introduced [...]

How about fiery death in cars and lots of punching? Would you like all this and a monstrous swamp creature that can burn your fear with his touch? Then you're in luck my friend. You get all [...]
